I’m Mike Skiff, and I’m proud to run this business alongside my 15-year-old son, Judah, right here in Fircrest, Washington.

This whole venture was his idea. One day, Judah came to me with a big idea: “Dad, let’s start a lawn care business.” Why? He wanted to put into practice the value of hard work, learning what it means to earn his own money through the effort and work ethic he brings to every mow, trim, and blow. I was all in—how could I not be? So, here we are, turning his vision into reality with Fircrest Lawn Care.

A bit about me: I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for nearly 20 years, and we’ve got seven kids, keeping our home busy and lively. Life with a big family is a beautiful, chaotic adventure, teaching us every day about love and resilience.

I started my career directly after graduating college, serving as an Army Officer, including a 15-month tour in Iraq and some unique roles—like helping decide who’d become the Army’s next Generals. My family moved with me from coast to coast, but everything changed when we faced heartbreak. After the loss of our second-born son, my focus shifted dramatically toward what matters most: family, connection, and community.

So, I left the Active Duty Army, moved home to Washington, and built a local marketing business from scratch, growing it to over $4 million in sales in eight years. I learned how to deliver for customers and make a difference. Now, I’m channeling that passion into Fircrest Lawn Care, and it’s extra special because it’s Judah’s idea we’re bringing to life.

Judah is the spark behind this business. At 15, he’s not just learning to mow a crisp line or trim with precision—he’s learning what it means to show up, work hard, and earn every dollar through his own effort. From blowing clippings to treating customers like neighbors, he’s growing as fast as the lawns we care for. Together, we’re building more than a business; we’re sharing laughs, swapping lessons, and growing closer while keeping your yard sharp.
